Mugs in the Dishwasher and MicrowaveWe are sometimes asked if our mugs are dishwasher proof and microwave safe. We have tested our mugs and have domestically dish washed many samples 100-200 times. Indeed we tend to use these mugs ourselves on a daily basis. Patterns and prints on these mugs have remained clear and fresh and without adverse effects. We are advised that on some occasions abrasives used in dishwashers can affect patterns - for example, when there are high salt levels in the dish washer. We are also aware that a mug can show signs of wear if constantly dish washed using particular detergents, powerballs and even the hardness of water can affect the print. We therefore cannot make a forever promise and will recommend hand wash only, particularly when a mug is special to the customer, to guarantee to maintain the vibrancy of the printed pattern, In a normal domestic situation and with a bit of care taken, we are confident that the product we supply will withstand domestic dish washing. In addition, our processes do not contain any metallic coatings so can be used in the microwave without any problems. See also
